Room with a view - how to frame your views

Looking out to a lovely view is something that makes each room of your home special. We would all love a beachfront view or a view of mountains but this is not always possible. How do you frame your outside spaces to give you the best view?

Window views

  1. Chase the light. Focusing on different lights can create great outlooks, and inside provides warmth and can cast shadows that create interest in your home. There is nothing like basking in natural sunlight on a cool winter’s day. Using windows that capture light can be a way to change how you feel in a space.

  2. Interesting windows. Narrow windows, also known as slim or skinny windows, are a great way to let in natural light without sacrificing privacy. They add a modern touch to your interior and create a unique look on the exterior of your home.

3. A Picture window is where you frame something as a view. A great place to do this is in your bathroom. You can plant up a space and curate a view.

4. Slit windows can provide a glimpse of a view and create interest while not showing the whole scene. This can be great if you live near your neighbours and still need privacy.

5.Highlight windows are similar and provide a view of something you want to highlight. These can often be used to show the sky.

6. Open up the roof with skylights. This can provide lots of natural light in spaces which otherwise might be dark. Great for older homes and bathrooms where you otherwise might use a lot of light bulbs.
